Server Protection
Our network and servers are continuously monitored for system health by our monitoring server. In the event any service stops working, alarms are sent to technical staff by text messages and email to enable us to get that service back on line quickly.
If you have ever had a website go off-line due to a power outage or had your web pages defaced, you know all too well this can cost you money and time.
In addition to server monitoring, we have several server protection mechanisms in place.
- All servers are on filtered power and battery backup protecting the machines from momentary or short term fluctuations in power which could cause data loss.
- During an extended power outage, batteries will run out and servers will shutdown. We have automatic backup generator power in the event of an extended power outage. When the system senses a loss of public power, the generator is automatically started and the transfer switch switches to backup during the outage.
- Our servers are regularly backed up for your protection in the event an unforeseen event takes place. This includes the websites and associated databases if applicable, allowing us to restore your site to proper working order quickly.
Hackers have programs that automatically check for vulnerabilities or open ports on a server in an effort to cause a denial of service or other such mischief. If an access point is identified, your site could be modified, defaced, or even taken off line.
- All servers are firewall protected to prevent hacking and defacing and port scanning attempts.
